There are so many things I love about in-home newborn photography both artistically and logistically. I think it is so beautiful to do these sessions in the place where a family will begin to share their new season of life and create new memories. Each home offers different and unique lighting situations, colors and angles that contribute to the visual storytelling elements in the complete gallery. Logistically, what is better than not even having to leave your house for photos? Parents with little ones, if you know you know. These sessions are for documenting your family and your story as you are.

This sweet family had just welcomed their second little boy one week earlier. I got to spend the morning in their home as they played game, snuggled and took care of the baby. It was so relaxed and laid back it felt like we were just hanging out.

The other thing that I just LOVE about in-home sessions, especially in western Oregon; you do not have to worry about the WEATHER! I am usually a roll with it, will shoot in any kind of weather girl. But, I do draw that line at shoots with little kids. In Oregon, where it rains for the better part of the year, it is nice to have that one piece to not worry about for these sessions. Which is also why pivoting to an in-home, cozy and intimate session for any type of photoshoot (engagement, pregnancy announcement, or family) is always a great option that can make for great photos!
